The purpose of Four Rivers Health Care is to provide medical care to low-income families and individual, who are without health insurance, not on Medicare, or Medicaid qualify and are not charged for these services. Four Rivers Health Care “Free Clinic” opened in 1999 and provides health care by using only volunteer doctors, nurse-practitioners, nurses, and staff. In 2012 the Free Clinic had 1148 visits, saw 504 individual patients and logged 368 hours of counseling. Twenty-nine health care providers, licensed counselors and individuals volunteered their time in 2012 logging 6288 hours. Medications received from Direct Relief, Needy Meds and those purchase by the clinic totaled over $500,000.
